"The Contemporary Chinese Area Studies" Network

Through the establishment of a network of research centers at various institutions, our organization is working to promote excellence in Japan-based research on contemporary Chinese Area Studies and to train the next generation of researchers. With the support of Japan’s National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU), the Contemporary Chinese Studies Network conducts cooperative research projects linking its Managing Research Center at Waseda University with research centers at the following five institutions: Kyoto University, Keio University, Tokyo University, the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature, and the Toyo Bunko.
