● Posting of Research Results

The Contemporary Chinese Studies Network project aims to link not only its six member institutions but also other researchers and research organizations throughout Japan, and places especial emphasis on posting and publicizing research results. Specifically, through the channels described below we plan to share, both with network members and others, information on the activities and research results of our six member institutions as well as information on the research results of other institutions and the state of Contemporary Chinese Studies both in Japan and abroad.

  1. The Managing Research Center is establishing the Contemporary Chinese Studies Network (CCSN) home page, which will regularly post for consumption by those both within and outside the Network information regarding the research and international operations of each member institution.
  2. The Managing Research Center will publish at regular intervals the Newsletter of the Contemporary Chinese Studies Network, which will publicize among both Network members and the larger scholarly community the research results and other accomplishments of the six member institutions, members’ recent achievements, the activities of inter-institutional study groups, etc.
  3. Research results will be posted on Japanese, English and Chinese versions of the website for consumption by both Network members and others.
  4. We will establish an international exchange network linking China’s foreign centers for Chinese Studies, China’s cooperative research organizations and research institutions in the West devoted to Chinese Studies.
  5. We will regularly publish occasional papers by young scholars who have conducted research of exceptional quality.
  6. We will hold a biennial Symposium on Contemporary Chinese Studies in Japan at which research conducted at our six member institutions will be presented.
  7. When appropriate, we will support the publication of exceptional research through inclusion in the Contemporary Chinese Studies Series.
